As a Product Design Intern, you will be supporting the Kids II Product Development, Toy Group in creating, developing, & refining product designs & concepts. This role will include you to be motivated & eager to learn, while possessing strong organizational skills & a creative eye for color & fashion trends. In addition, we are looking for an individual who has an understanding of technical drawings & engineering principles such as exploded views, bill of materials, & plastic assemblies.
You may be the ideal intern if you are skilled in sketching & visualization, reading & analyzing design documents, calculating figures (such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, & volume), then you would be a perfect fit! Some of the activities for an intern in this position would involve:
What’s your background?
- Create sketches to convey new designs and ideas to staff for review.
- Determine & refine the playability, marketability, & safety of the project
- Prepare control drawings, material & color specs, CAD data for the construction of prototypes & tooling models
- Work with rapid prototyping equipment to develop volume models
- Participate in brainstorming sessions with design group to generate new product ideas.
This internship is a part-time position (35 hours a week) for 10 weeks, it is open to students & graduates preferably enrolled in an Industrial Design, Product Design, or Toy Design program. Also, you will be required to have basic computer skills using Microsoft Office, Illustrator, & Photo Shop in addition to one or more of the following:
