In Jan, 2007, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Kids II is voluntarily recalling approximately 375,000 Bright Starts Star Teether Beads and Bright Starts Teether Beads. The flexible plastic ring that holds the teether beads in place can crack or break, and the beads can detach, posing a choking hazard to infants.
Kids II has received 24 reports of the plastic ring cracking or breaking and the beads becoming detached from the ring. No injuries have been reported.
Consumers should take this product away from children immediately and CLICK HERE for information on receiving a free replacement.
Only these two models of teether beads are subject to the recall. Kids II also manufactured a Baby Connections Teethable Beads (Model 31058) which is not subject to this recall. The Baby Connections Teethable Beads have oblong beads in different colors including orange and blue beads. If you have a teether bead that has orange or blue beads, it is not one of the models subject to this recall. |
