| (Alpharetta,GA) – Monday, April 02, 2007 Bright Starts™, an infant and toddler toy and baby gear brand, is celebrating the “Power of Pink” by conducting a search for eight outstanding moms who have survived breast cancer and exemplify the courage to fight for a cure for the women of tomorrow. Now through June 15, 2007, friends and family can visit www.brightstarts.com/pink to nominate an inspiring woman whom they feel symbolizes the ideal “Pink Power Mom.”
Bright Starts™ is looking for eight inspirational mothers who have overcome the extraordinary adversity of the fight against breast cancer and used the opportunity to model positive lessons to all, especially their children. The eight “Pink Power Moms” will be flown to Atlanta in October for a weekend of wellness where they will be recognized at the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Pink Tie Ball and a donation will be given in their name to the breast cancer charity of their choice. The winners will also be featured in a national advertising campaign and have their inspirational stories shared throughout Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
“According to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation, one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer every year,“ says Ryan Gunnigle, President and CEO of Kids II, Inc. “The Bright Starts™ Pink Power Moms selected will help promote breast cancer awareness by sharing their personal stories of triumph with others.”
Beginning with sales from January 1, 2007, a portion of the proceeds from the top selling
Bright Starts™ Pretty In Pink™ Cradling Bouncer and other Pink Collection items launching throughout the year will be donated to support breast cancer research. Kids II, Inc., designer and manufacturer of the Bright Starts™ brand, will donate a percentage of the proceeds from Pink Collection product sales through the Kids II Foundation in support of breast cancer research, with a minimum donation of $100,000.
“Partnering our Bright Starts™ Pink Collection with a Pink Ribbon Campaign is a natural partnership, with the power to make a difference,” says Gunnigle. “We are excited for this opportunity to support a cause so important to our employees, our consumers and especially to today‘s baby girls.”
